Gizmo is one our most adoptable and easy going dogs at the moment! His energy is contagious and he instantly captivates you with his charm and lovely demeanor! He’s a perfect mix of energetic and calm. He is up for any adventure on the town or trip to the beach, but also loves to relax and cuddle for hours! He is 6 years old, 12 lbs, house trained, fantastic with all types of dogs, doesn’t mind cats, and loves people. He would sit on your shoulder like a parrot and follow you around all day if you let him! He is such a sweet guy, we can’t believe he hasn’t been adopted yet! If you’re looking for a new friend, Gizmo is perfect for you! He would do great with any type of family, adults and children.

Ella Sue

We pulled sweet Ella Sue from the North Central Shelter. We think she is about 8 years old and she weighs 8 pounds. She is house trained and leash trained. She also adores humans! She is currently with a foster and loves both lounging around and going on adventures outside. She is a great companion for errands around town. Her quiet and mellow personality goes along great with other dogs and people. Did we mention she also loves to cuddle? She is available for adoption now and would make a great addition to any family.

Butters is a 5 year old, 6 lb chihuahua who was rescued from the Moreno Valley shelter two days before he was set to be euthanized. He was dumped by his “family” along with another dog who ended up getting adopted quickly, leaving Butters all by himself at the shelter. He showed extreme fear based aggression while at the shelter and didn’t want anyone to get close to him. He was rescued because he deserved a chance at a second life. Now, he is thriving in his foster home and is as sweet as can be once he warms up to you. He loves to cuddle and go to the beach or the park with his humans. He gets along great with big and small dogs and can‘t wait to find his forever home.

Farrah is an adorable 11 year old who does great in social situations! She loves meeting new people and does great around other dogs. She’s house trained and a very calm and loving dog. She was rescued from the Orange County shelter after being overlooked for months. She’s an awesome dog who deserves a loving forever home!

Captain Willie

Captain Willie was rescued from Moreno Valley Shelter after he was picked up as a stray. He had a fox tail in his eye which caused extreme damage to his eyeball so he had to have it removed. We have no idea how long he was a stray for or how long he went without human interaction. He is good around other dogs and is learning to trust people. It may take him time to open up and become the confident pup we know he is! He is looking for a home with a patient owner who will take their time in letting him decompress and eventually thrive! Adopt Captain Willie today!!

Harold is a handsome gentleman who is 10 years young and is still waiting to find his forever home. He loves people and will follow his human around everywhere! He’s got good energy (but not too energetic) and likes going on walks or prancing around the backyard! He’s ok with other dogs and is house trained. He reminds us of an old man who enjoys his time lounging in the recliner watching all of his favorite TV shows. He’s a charmer and will make someone very happy. Consider adopting Harold today!!!

Shadow is a 2 year old, male, lab/pit mix who was rescued from the Inland Valley Humane Society after waiting months for someone to save him. He’s a very good boy with tons of love to give! He will be a great companion for someone looking for an active yet cuddly dog!

Raffie is quite the unique dog. His former owner fell on hard times and lived in a car with Raffie and five other dogs, including Romeo (another HFFR rescue) for 2 years. Raffie is blind but is the life of the party. He has a heart of pure love and loves running around outside. He needs some time to adjust to new environments but has a lot of love to give. He will be spending a little more time at his foster home, while we get his health in order.

We picked up 11 year old Cooper at a shelter in Los Angeles. After doing some blood work, it was determined that he is hypothyroid and will need life-long medication to help regulate his thyroid levels and keep them healthy. Along with his hypothyroid, the vet suspects he has bulging disk(s) causing him to wobble when he walks. These needs do not hold Cooper back though! He is a bundle of love who enjoys adventuring (slowly). He is doing wonderful in his current foster home but would love to be part of a furever home.

Becoming a foster will help dogs get out of the shelters and into loving furever homes. We ask that our fosters provide food and a safe, cozy place for our pups to stay while we cover all medical expenses. Fostering is extremely rewarding and makes a huge difference in these dogs’ lives. We are always looking for reliable, loving, and caring fosters.

We are always looking for volunteers to help transport dogs to and from the vet, adoption events and sometimes the shelter. We also love when our volunteers hangout with our pups at adoption events in LA and Long Beach. Download the Volunteer App above. Incentive completed, email it to 🐾
